"Fast fashion" has been driving clothing production worldwide since the turn of the millennium. In the period from 2000 to 2014, the number of garments produced worldwide has doubled to 100 billion pieces. This has consequences: according to the Federal Environment Agency, about once again so many chemicals are used per kilo of fabric. Wearing the cheap pieces is rarely dangerous. The problem is the production of the workers and for nature – the graph shows a selection of the most problematic substances.
